Now I don’t want to seem insensitive to the person who died after the most recent train crash in the UK, but I was abit worried about one of the findings in the preliminary accident report.
A preliminary probe into a fatal high-speed train crash focused on a pair of points just ahead of the site, where a vital “stretcher bar” was missing, British accident investigators said on Monday.
Now I also remember that Network Rail stated that the points in question had been serviced at the beginning of Febraury.
Workie: Right boss, I’ve fixed them points.
Boss: OK.
Workie: What do you want me to do with all these spare bits here?
Boss:
Network Rail are also checking another 700 sets of points throughout the UK, presumably to check if any other vital components are missing.
