I spotted Gary’s post about the next beta release of Windows Live Writer and thought I’d give it a try, since the other one worked well.

Upon launch, it detected all of my previous settings so I went to edit the settings for each of my blogs.

I clicked Weblog -> Edit Weblog Settings… -> Update Account Information -> Next >.

An dialog popped up stating that it had received a “(412) Precondition Failed” error.

After some investigation on Google, I discovered that the “Bad Behavior” plug-in was causing the problem.

On disabling this plug-in, Live Writer was able to update it’s settings properly.

So if you are using WordPress and have “Bad Behavior” enabled, disable it and your problems will go away…
