August 10th, 2009 I’ve now successfully migrated my amalgamated my two existing servers to a single Windows Home Server, allowing me to host websites and clickonce applications and stream media to my XBox 360, all from a single box.
The changes are listed below:
- Upgraded PHP to 5.3.0, which provided a few challenges, as it doesn’t support ISAPI except through the FastCGI extension
- Upgraded MySQL to 5.1.37 Community Edition, and changed the back-end administration application to dbForge Studio Express.
- Transferred email for my domain out to Google Apps mail, so no more mail rejections due to the mail server being hosted on a server in a public IP address range.
